Last month, the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving launched the COVID-19 Response Fund to rapidly deploy resources to support the residents who are most significantly affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Over the past couple of years, I have had the opportunity to work with Hartford and surrounding towns on community and economic initiatives. The volunteer Board of Directors governs the policies and grant decisions of the Foundation. Aided by a substantial endowment of $1.06B* that has grown steadily over time, we supported the Greater Hartford region with $38.3 million dollars of grant funding in 2019 for a total of more than $796 million since 1925.
